Platitudinous Occasion

I trekked across most of London today, the train took less than fifteen minutes to get into Paddington & a few minutes on the Bakerloo Line to Oxford Circus where I decided to get off & walk around for a bit. As I was leaving the station I noticed the barrier flash a 'seek assistance' sign, but the gate had already opened, so I just walked out. I walked around to Orbital Manga & Designer Toys, looked around for a bit before heading around the corner to Orbital Comics & Collectibles, which was absolutely HUGE!!

I looked at the first page of WATCHMEN they have on display in the small gallery section of the shop before remembering to head over to Richmond. This meant I had to make my way over to Picadilly Circus where the ticket flashed a 'seek assistance' sign & refused to open. I walked over to the tickets & assistance area where I was informed that the system hadn't registered that I had disembarked at Oxford Circus, as though I was riding the Underground for no apparent reason for two hours. I managed to sort that out & add another £5 onto the Oyster Card  before taking to the Bakerloo Line to Embankment where I got onto the train that had been waiting on the platform for a few minutes before moving off & slowly, with each successive station the train stopped at, the train gradually became more packed, until we got to Earl's Court where everyone got off, allowing me to sit down.

I got to Richmond at around 2:30PM, walked around to the Richmond Adult Community College which was easier than I expected as Googlemaps has a tendency to make everything look things appear further way than they are in reality. I looked around at the work on display, saw an issue Megami with Nagi & Zange Chan from Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens on the cover, saw the Cosplayers & the Kimono fashion parade before remembering that I hadn't checked on the issuesof SFP I'd left with Orbital.

As I walked through the ticket barrier, I walked toward the platform just in time to see the train pull ot of the station! I was slightly worried as I wanted to get back to Orbital before 6PM, so was quite relieved when another train arrived within a minute. I sat down & tried to decide whether I should stay on the District Line to Embankment, or switch onto the Picadilly Line. Fortunately before the train pulled out of Hammersmith, I noticed the Eastbound Picadilly train standing on the station, so I quickly crossed over to that train & leaned against the wall of the carriage all the way to Leicester Square. I left the station at about 5:50PM, leaving me just ten minute to get there before 6PM, I managed to get there by 5:55PM where I noticed that they actually stay open 'till 7PM. I checked on the number of issues they had left: Thy had four issues each of SFP#1-3 & only two of A Taste of *everything!* which was a pleasant surprise, so I asked whether they'd actually managed to sell any of the issues. Unfortunately nobody in Admin would be in store until Monday, so I couldn't get an answer before then.

I decided to buy something while I was there, so I picked up a copy of Mangasm!!

Two volumes of Mephistos (Volume 2 was published in January).

And some single editions of Blade of the Immortal, which I was surprised to find in Orbital C&C!

My elation was short lived once I got home to discover that of the seven issues I bought at £2 each, I already have five of them!!
