Red velvet cupcakes

While lounging in the living room on Sunday with a large cup of Tea, I noticed that the TV was on, which isn't that surprising really as it's hardly ever off. My attention was drawn to the television once I realised the people on the screen were making cup cakes, which probably doesn't seem like anything special, but the manner in which they prepared the cake was somwhat bizarre & the amount of food colouring added into the cake mix itself was something I had not previously witnessed. Although the way the guy prepared the topping, mixing butter & Cream cheese with an electric whisk, while adding Icing Sugar, sending a cloud of Sugar into the air, almost obscuring the camera in the process.

But the end results were somewhat spectacular, as a set of cupcakes that had been prepared beforehand was brought onscreen, because the cakes take up to fifteen minuted to cook, which isfar too long for a five minute segment. These perfectly cooked RED cupcakes were then iced with the pale butter icing, ensuring that enough of the redness of the cake is left visible & is finally topped with a crystalised red rose petal.

I've been considering cupcakes for some time, but there always seem to be some obstacle that has prevented me, like the fact that I cannot seem to find any icing equipment in any store I find myself in when I remember that I need icing equipment. If you feel like trying thi recipe out for yourself, you can find it on BBC - Food.
