Boris can't be as much of an embarasament as Ken (I don't keep track of pollitical scandals though) But it's amusing that while London is preparing for the Olympic Games in 2012, they have elected a Mayor that exemplifies what the world would believe an english person to be, mumbling as though slightly embarrassed.

But will he have time to appear on 'Have I Got News For You' now that he's Mayor?!?

Its almost as thugh ypu need to have some osrt of scandal sirrounding you to be taken seriously as a politician these days, but has Boris tried to take the US Govornment to court because the employees of the US embassy refuse to pay the congestion charge.

It's probably down to the public perception that there are only two political parties to choose from, so they just chose to side with the opposing party rather than choose a suitable candidate. It could also be down to the gact that not everybody voted on Thursday. Unlike some countries, like Australia where you are required by law to vote (I learned this from an episode of Neighbours) not everyone in this country can make the effort to put a small cross in a little box on a tiny slip of paper, fold it up, then drop it into a sealed box. When I went to vote on Thursday, there was almost nobody there & those who had volunteered to hand out ballots looked as though they had fallen asleep from the boredom of sitting around doing nothing.
