It wasn't that long ago that I read about the discovery of oddly coloured Katydids in Osaka that seemed strangely reminiscent of Candy. But I've just recently learned that Komatsuya Confecionary have created a bitesize Larva Chocolate (Youchu Choco) the main body is made from milk chocolate & cornflakes coated with a white chocolate for the skin, the legs are fabricated from strips of dried Squid & the mouth is made from Orange peel.
Komatsuya hand-produce up to 400 a day & are struggling to keep up with demand, they're available online, but only within Japan for 210 yen each. The Larva Chocolates are currently available in Tokyo at the Chocolates & Sweets Expo, Sunshine City (Ikebukero) until March 9th.
So, if you're going to Tokyo, you could pick up a few of these Creepy-yet-cute chocolates!

You could probably still but them from their site if you can get them delivered to a hotal you're staying at. You could always try a bribe, supposedly you're supposed to offer someone a gift when you meet them & they offer you another in return (if your gift is expensive or unique they'll try to outdo you) Ground Coffee, Cigarettes or Steak would be ideal gifts, although I've no idea if you'd get any of it through customs without arousing suspicion!
Even without bribery, you'll probably find your hosts wery accomadating & may even go out of their way to buy the Chocolate Larva for you...
Maybe...
