It's finally British Summer Time and I've spent more of my time than I'd have enjoyed with watery eyes & incessant bouts of sneezing. I'm sure the Flu vaccination was supposed to prevent that sort of thing, so it could be allergies due to the large volume of dust I managed to find hidden away behind the TV. There was so much dust it looked as though it were snow. I should probably clean that area more often!

Over a month ago I bought a book through Amazon marketplace & was reminded that in used books 'good' means crap. The book was barely held together with a tiny section of the spine & rather than tape the book together & ignore the problem I decide to buy some Silk & repair the binding properly. I had to back the silk with paper, I decided to use tracing paper as it was the thinnest paper I could find at the size I required (Layout paper would probably have been more suitable)

I decided against tearing th book apart to repair it, so I just cut the endpaper & squeazed the silk underneath it.

I was going to have to replace the endpapers anyway so, I failed to find suitably sized (and reasonably priced) chiyogami paper I decided to use some of the silk I'd purchased instead. I'm pleasantly surprised with the results although a few of the pages have warped, but the book only cost me £1.42 to begin with anyway.
And when you consider how much I had to spend in order to repair the book, it really doesn't seem like a good deal anymore!
