Japanese rock band X Japan & Sanrio's Hello Kitty are collaborating for X Japan's World Tour Live concerts. It's not the first time a band has used fictional character to promote their concerts, U2 toured with Lara Croft (although she didn't inexplicably impale herself on spikes every five minutes) but this is the first time since Hello Kitty was conceived in 1984 that she has collaborated with a real life band & to this end, Sanrio have created 'Visual Kei Kitty!' Sanrio has been trying to expand the appeal of Hello Kitty to a Male audience & the Hello Kitty Magazine has recently been published in the United Kingdom, although judging from the cute plush Hello Kitty Doll on the cover, The magazine is aimed at Hello Kitty's primary demographic.
