I suddenly fell ill on Tuesday, sneezing incessantly for most of Tuesday & some of Wednesday morning. Normally this would be fine, however I've been troubled by a slight hearing imballance, I can hear most sounds just fine, but my actual voice sounds muffled & I'm experiencing pressure in my ear which shouldn't be there. I tried a Nasal Decongestant Spray which seemed to relieve the symptoms, but it's only short term at best. I went to the surgery to book an appointment with a Doctor on Thursday, only to find that it was shut, so I went back on Friday, but the earliest I could book was Tuesday at 10:30.

To take my mind off this, I decided to cook something. I also had my camera with me, so I took some photos to commemorate the occasion!

To begin with, I had to chop up the main ingredients: Cucumber, Pork, Radish & Garlic.

I then had to fry the Garlic...

Until Golden, which probably would have worked out better had I not stopped to take a picture, you can see the black bits can't you!

Then I added the water (even though you're not really supposed to add water to oil) Soy Sauce, Schwartz Season All & Five Spice, brought it to the boil...

And added the Pork which began to cook the very instant it went into the water.

I added the radishes, allowed to boil for a few minutes.

Then added the Cucumber & allowed to boil for a few more minutes, adding more Soy Sauce, some Sugar, Salt & Basil.

And there you have [livejournal.com profile] fayeyong's Magic Happy Soup!
